Playing as an intern in an office from a selection of 4 different playable characters, the players must complete tasks given to them by their supervisors or the other employees. If the players do not work together to meet their quota for the day, they fail and are fired.

Title Screen & Setting

The title screen showcases the mundane environment that the game is set in.

Tutorialization

Tried lots of options for tutorialization such as posters inside the level, pop-ups on the HUD and then finally settled on this loading screen image.

Chaos from level design

All actions have to pass through the centre of the level to encourage players to work together as to not collide and waste valuable time!

Roles and Responsibilities:

Producer:

  • Managed workload amongst team, using a combination of HackNPlan, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams.
  • Prioritized work to keep a consistent flow throughout the project for each individual on the team.

Game Designer

  • Created planning documentation for the game as a Game Design Document.
  • Designed core mechanics of the game. (Tasks that the players have to perform and the overall goal of the game)
  • Iterated on the design of the level to encapsulate the chaotic and stressful feeling that was planned in the Game Design Document.
  • Adjustment of player controller to feel responsive and enjoyable to use.
  • Designed the user interface and menus. To add to the feeling of being set inside an office.
  • Prototyped core mechanics of the game.

Audio Designer

  • Edited sound cues to get the desired audio for each action in the game.
  • Implemented audio as MetaSounds within Unreal Engine 5.3.2

Quality Assurance

  • Tested and created reports on bugs and features that felt incorrect as to what was described within the Game design document.
